Peoples Retirement Community opened its doors in 1988. The idea of Pastor Owen Shackett (of Peoples Church, now called Champion Center, located adjacent to Peoples’ property) and his wife Betty saw a need for retirement living in this community. Originally designed for independent living, the need for assisted living quickly became apparent and began slowly admitting residents requiring assistance. A few years later resulted in the first floor, east wing being remodeled to accommodate memory care.

In the summer of 2023 Chad Solvie, CEO of Cascade Senior Living Services, acquired Peoples Senior Living to continue the mission of service and quality care services.
